Useful Tips on How to Reduce Your Wedding Cost

Every couple has a dream of the 'perfect wedding'. They think about the church, the dress, the food, the reception, the band and how lovely they want their wedding to be. But when each couple gets down to calculating the cost, they begin to find ways to cut down on the things they need.

But do you know you can actually significantly cut wedding costs without the risk of your guest seeing your wedding as cheap, and without sacrificing the things you really want?

So how can you reduce wedding cost in a not so obvious way?

1. Seasons - Avoid high seasons. People prefer to get married during summer, or on special days like valentines day. Avoid such seasons and dates, as the cost of all wedding related services shoots up during such periods.

2. Cakes - Buy a small beautifully decorated wedding cake for display at the reception, and keep a bigger plain cake out of sight. At 'cake time' cut up and serves the bigger cake. Majority of your guest won't even know the difference.

3. Wedding Dress - Rent your wedding dress, or use your mother's dress. This is a great money saver, as a new wedding dress would cost between $2000-$4000, and don't forget you'll probably wear it just once!

4. Choose your wedding venue wisely - Many couples now tend to get married abroad. Getting married aboard means you'll have fewer guests, and reduced wedding cost. You could also choose to have an outdoor wedding in a garden or beach so you can save on renting a hall.

5. Decorations - If you feel you are creative enough then do your wedding decoration yourself. You could also involve your friends if you need extra help. If you need flowers, use flowers that are in season.

6. Week Day Wedding - Consider getting married on a weekday. Most venues would cost less, rentals cost less, and you get less guest. That's a win, win, win.

7. Invite fewer guest - Let's face it there are some people who won't mind if they don't get invited to your wedding. Remember fewer guests' equals less cost, so invite fewer people.

8. Car Hire - Have you got a friend who owns a gorgeous car you fancy? Then use it for your wedding transport and forget about overpriced car hire services.

9. Create a budget - Planning a wedding is an emotional activity, and you might be tempted to spend emotionally without giving much thought to your actions. Budgets keep you on track or at least close to the tracks, so please create one.

10. Get your family involved - Most of your family members would be willing and happy to help out financially if you choose to get them involved. You could get your aunt to help with the desert, or get your brother's band to play at your wedding. All these little inputs would go a long way in reducing wedding cost.

There are many ways to reduce wedding cost without being cheap, now you know the top 10 of them. Put them to use and you'll be glad you did.
